Emotes/Emojis
Twitch channels can each have custom text chat emojis, commonly known as emotes, to personalize and express the channel while rewarding subscribers and growing community chat engagement.
Emote designs are restricted to a maximum dimension of 112x112 pixels, and should ideally be readable at a size as small as 28x28px. All emotes have also been designed to be as effective on a white OR black background, due to possible user settings.
IĀ also had the opportunity to work on some animated emotes, a new addition to Twitch. Animations are limited to 60 frames total, so creativity and flexibility with the frame rates was key for longer duration animations.
Channel Assets
Channel assets consist of Banners, Panels, and Profile pictures. Banners act as a cover image or header over the channel page, similar to other social media profile banners. Panels are commonly informative graphics that appear below a live stream video on a profile page. These info panels can be used to organize and present more information about the streamer and the channel.
Subscriber Badges
When someone subscribes to a channel, they will get a Subscriber chat badge that is automatically displayed next to their name when they participate in chat. As subscribers accumulate time subscribed to a channel (3 months, 6 months, etc), they'll reach milestones and earn new customized badges.
